Con/ Concert Season Has ARRIVED!!!

From the Korea Times Music Festival to KCON to many more, Kpop events are coming up and it's time to prepare funds, transportation, cosplay ideas, and so much more. I definitely recommend going to a Kpop concert at least once in your life. My experiences at these events last year were more than phenomenal (seeing SNSD perform with Jessica for the last time EVER before she left was THE best gift of all time) and I cannot wait to see what these events have in store for this year. Hopefully I can attend most of them. I'm definitely low on funds this year and I'm trying to save every penny T.T, but I really would like to see both GOT7 and APINK and all of the other performers at this years' KTMF. BTS is also coming to the United States for their second tour and GOT7 is having a fan meet in San Francisco. All of which costs lots of monies.....>.<

But hey at least there is still time left to prepare and save up. This weekend, I'm thinking of going to WonderCon 2015 as a volunteer, which is not really kpop, it's more of a comicbook convention, but I still can't wait! Sometimes I can find a few kpop cosplayers here and there. I volunteered last year too and it was a blast. The cosplay was obviously AMAZING!!! I'd love to hear if anyone is going to any events and has any innovative ideas for concert funding, or cosplay ideas, or just how you plan to have fun at conventions in general. Please let me know~

10 BEST OF KPOP 2014

Hey guys! As we're approaching the end of 2014, it's time to look back and list the best kpop songs/comebacks of the year. This was a super hard list to make and definitely not set in stone because all of the songs are amazing and all were probably at my the number one spot at some point in the year. My criteria for deciding which song is the best basically looks at the whole package. The song's composition and catchiness, the music video quality, and how well it speaks to me. There are so many other songs I wish I could've included too, but here's my list of the BEST OF KPOP 2014:

1. 2PM- Go Crazy
This song definitely is a highlight of the year for me because of it's silliness, craziness, and super-catchiness. Regarding the music video, it's simply amazing because of the boy's cute expressions and crazy antics. It's a great party song and always gets me super hyped up whenever I need some energy. I think Nickhun's line is definitely my favorite, although I really enjoy all of Wooyoung's lines too, and I love when they all get in a conga line dance. Everything about the music video is just adorable and crazy and super fun and I loved all of it!! :D

2. B2ST- Good Luck

Okay, this song and 2pm's were extremely close and at one point tied for the best song of the year in my eyes. It was indescribable. When it first came out I was extremely pleased and shocked because of how good this song was. I loved loved loved everything about it. From the overall composition of the song, to the incredible dance (the part above is obviously my favorite), to Junhyung's rap.......which was also perfect in my mind, even though it was kinda cheesy x) It was all just beautiful and I still love singing along to it. What really gets me is Yoseb's amazing singing in the beginning and then the short dubstep lead into the rest of the song just................it amazes me to a whole 'nother level. I've had just the intro on repeat for several times this year.

3. Taeyang- Eyes, Nose, Lips
This year really struck gold with guy releases because, at number three, Taeyang's song was absolutely breathtaking. In terms of songs that can change the world, I really think that this is one of those kinds of inspirational songs and would definitely get number one in that kind of category. I'd love to cover it maybe one day, even with my average voice. In the video, we got to see Taeyang shirtless again, which is always a plus, and hear the emotion running through his voice. Seriously though, this song is racked with emotion and breaks my heart every time I listen to it. According to Taeyang's interviews, he focused this album on a girl who got away and who he still misses sometimes, which makes the song all the more emotionally deep and real.

4. 4minute- Whatcha doin' Today (오늘 뭐해)
Yayyyy!!! A girl group!! They rank fourth on my list of best kpop of the year, but I think for best girl group song of the year, it would have to go to 4minute. I know, I know what about SNSD and 2NE1??!?! Their songs are definitely ear candy too and I especially LOVE 2NE1's album this year, all of the songs on the album speak to me. But I'd have to say I absolutely believe that 4minute's song is the best this year because this song is super fun, energetic, and JiHyun's part is so cute!!! I also love both Hyuna's and JiYoon's raps because you can "ROCK IT KILL IT THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT" xD I mean just look at them, especially with GaYoon holding a faceless horse doll, saying "오늘 뭐해" It's super cute and their lipstick is on point! The video has a harlem shake-like feeling to it, but it definitely captures a silliness and fun aspect of the girls.

5. Sistar's Soyu and Junggigo- Some
Adorable, cute, and very very sweet, I know you know this song, Soyu and Junggigo's Some!!!!!! They won many awards for this song and I completely agree because it captured a lovely feeling and the video with B1a4's Baro and Sistar's Dasom is tooo cute<3 They were so silly and sweet as a couple in the music video and showed the push and pull of being in love. Even Soyu and Junggigo had chemistry on stage when they sang live too, because they were both smiling sweetly at each other. Just look at how cute they are together in this pic~ ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!

 6. 2NE1- Gotta Be You
Now that we're halfway through, I'll try to shorten my responses. Maybe it's because I'm Bommie biased and this song really highlights her voice, I think number 6 would go to this song. This video is pretty simple but the song makes up for it. Why this song and not Come Back Home?? I myself have no idea why. Come Back Home is beautifully written and the music video tells a great song, but I guess, as you can see by now, I have a tendency toward more upbeat, danceable party songs. That doesn't mean that I don't like ballads or other songs, I actually really love them. I just have a preference toward these kinds of songs. Also, I think there also needs to be like a subcategory, or maybe like a 6a. because CL's song on this album MTBD is pretty damn awesome.

7. GOT7- "A"
I think GOT7 is my favorite rookie group of the year, because of this song and also their dancing. The song has a simple, sweet tone, but it still really draws you in. I really really recommend watching these videos if you haven't because their energy shows throughout the dance and when the song hits its climax the energy level also rises and it shows in their dance. They look like they're having so much fun together. When I hear their shoes squeaks and their HA!s, it feels like I'm in a different place. It's kinda like when you witness such an incredible spontaneous, yet synchronized event, it makes you feel mentally awed at that person's ability to create such a phenomenal moment. Boyfriend also has this moment in their dance practice for Obsession.

8. AKMU- Give love and "200"
These two are tied because they have a similar feeling, but they are both remarkably charming and endearing. Seriously though, these two are adorable! They seem to have such a sweet sibling relationship and the music that they make are particular to themselves. Their sound is very distinctive and their videos are hilariously delightful.

9. Teen Top- Missing
I'm really happy with this song because they have matured from the horrible colorful costumes and also because the song is infused with an intense emotional sadness. This is mostly due to Niel and Chunji's spectacular voices and then when the song reaches C.A.P.'s rap how it all wraps together is just astonishing. The music video is impressive and the dance is extremely powerful and well-executed.

10. Kara- Mamma Mia
I hadn't been avidly listening to Kara, but I had been keeping tabs on them when they added Youngji and I'm glad I did because this song drew me in right away. It's a song you can dance to, the video's great, and overall the atmosphere of the song is super refreshing,

Other Notable Songs of the Year:
-Winner's Empty and Color Ring (and Mino's 걔 세(I'm him))
-Orange Caramel's Catellena and My Copycat (I also love Gangnam Ave but it's not as popular)
-BLOCK B's Jackpot and H.E.R.
-All of BTS's songs this year
-Boyfriend's Obsession
-Sistar, Hyuna's Red, Girl's Day...etc.
-PLUS SO MUCH MORE

There are literally so many more songs that came out this year, but this is the ten best in my opinion. Let me know what you're ten favorites of Kpop 2014 in the comments below :)

Voting for the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2014 has started!

At the end of every year, Mnet hosts a huge award show in Hong Kong which features many Kpop artists. The troublemaker duo, Beast's Hyunseung and 4minute's Hyuna have had amazing highlight performance stages in past years. I've been watching MAMA live-stream at around 2am in the morning since 2012 x) This year however, SHINee isn't nominated for any of the categories, so I might just watch the replays later on. I will still be voting though so here's the link if anyone else would like to support their idol groups!
Vote for the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards here.
Here are the current standings for some of the categories so far (and who I personally am voting for):
Best New Artist: YG and JYP are battling it out with Winner and GOT7, but so far GOT7 is in the lead!!!! I love both groups, but I'd have to say I'm a bigger iGOT7<3
Best Dance Performance Solo: I'm actually voting for Hyuna's "Red," but Ailee is currently in the lead with "Don't Touch Me." Again, I really truly love both solo artists, but as for dance performance, Hyuna's Red is so much fun to dance to.
Best Music Video: 2PM's "GO CRAZY!!!" I agree with this LOL It's seriously the funnest video and dance ever!! I think this or Beast's "Good Luck" should also be song of the year because they're both just crazy good xD
Best OST: Right now Lyn is in for the win with her OST "Destiny" from the K-drama "You Who Came From the Stars." I'd say it's the cheesiest OST LOL, but I do love the drama<3 It's super cute and "Twilight"-esque.
Those are just some of the leading artists for now. The voting doesn't end until early December, so there's still time to vote for your favorite idol groups ^_^ Good Luck to everyone!!! May the awards be ever in your unnies and oppas favors!!!!

K-DRAMA: My Lovely Girl - Thoughts/Review on Ep.10

SPOILERS ALERT!!!!

So basically, for those who haven't seen it "My Lovely Girl" is a drama about two people who get to know each other through the combination of music and the loss of someone dear to them. The drama features Rain, f(x)'s Krystal, and Infinite's L. As a recap of the story, Rain's character Lee Hyun-wook was a genius musical composer for ANA entertainment company and had been dating So-eun, but she died in a car accident after arguing with Hyun-wook. Fast forward a couple years and we see Hyun-wook has closed himself off because he blames himself for So-eun's death, but suddenly one day he receives a phone call from So-eun's old phone, which he had kept after the car accident. It turn's out the call is from So-eun's younger sister, Yoon Se-na who is played by Krystal, and she seems to be stuck in life and has some money troubles, so Hyun-wook decides to go find her and help her. After finding her, Hyun-wook takes her into his company and because he takes care of her so well, Se-na falls in love with him.

In episode 10 however, he has begun pushing Krystal away because he's her sister's boyfriend and doesn't feel right dating her even though he has feelings for Krystal too. All while this is happening, Infinite's L who plays Shi-woo, a member of the play-on-band named "Infinite Power" under the same label ANA, interacts and falls for Krystal too. There's also Hae-yoon who's been in love with Hyun-wook since before he fell in love in So-eun, but she receives no attention from him. Of course there's so much more going on, but that's the main story line. So here's where my personal thoughts come in, I love Rain as much as the next Hallyu fan, he's completely cute and handsome in this drama as he always is, but I find myself rooting for Krystal to be with L because, as arrogant as his character may seem, he has a really sweet and sensitive side that makes it feel like he needs to be taken care of. I just love it when he says to her with a serious face that she makes his heart beat or something like that<3

Also, Rain still hasn't told Krystal anything about being her sister's boyfriend, but he keeps telling her that their relationship can only go up to here, which is frustrating because he made her fall in love with him after all this time and only now is he finally pulling away and accepting his consequences instead of realizing that he shouldn't have lead her on in the first place. That's k-dramas for you, but so far I'm enjoying the drama especially because of the beautiful OSTs and Krystal's acting.

On an additonal note, one of my favorite parts of this drama so far was seeing Krystal standing up for herself and slapping Shi-woo when he got out of hand instead of getting bullied by him or being pulled away by her wrist. Oh and Bestie's Na Hae-ryung plays the part of a stuck-up trainee so well. I really like Bestie as a rookie group overall so I'm happy she was able to play this part. Everyone else in the group is also super pretty and their songs are cute too so try to check them out!

My Blog Title's Interesting Backstory

I got the idea for my blog name through an experience that happened to me in the KCON of 2013. Wow that sounds so historic *imitates grandpa voice*: and that's what happened in the war of 86...lol. Anyways, it was my first year going to KCON (yeah I'm still kinda a kcon newb) and the experience was indescribable. It was my first kpop concert and loved getting to see everyone for the first time ever and I had so many feels♡ By the end of the night though, I was struck with with what some might call bad luck. When we got to the parking lot to head back home, my car wouldn't start T.T I had the idea of jumpstarting my car, but I didn't have any jumpstart cables with me so I went off car to car in search of the cables. I had walked around for a while and it  started to seem like absolutely no one had the cables, but miraculously I finally found a truck who had them and had allowed me to borrow them. They followed me back to my car to help with the cables. As this was happening the person in the car next to me seemed to sense like I was in trouble so he also got out to help. Together we had tried to start up my car, but this ultimately ended up failing, there was a problem with my starter. The point of the whole story is that even though it ended up being 1am in the morning, hours after the concert, these wonderful strangers had stayed to help me until I was able to call for a tow truck even though they too had a long day and a long drive home. I never really consider this as an unfortunate experience because while my situation was looking bleak and it looked like I might be stuck in the middle of nowhere, I was enlightened by these amazingly considerable kpop fans who didn't want to abandon me alone in the middle of the night in Los Angeles. This random act of kindness had inspired me and made me love kpop even more because it allowed me to see how the KPOP community is made up of some really kind-hearted supporters. So I titled my blog random act of Kpop to show what other amazing things kpop can do for people.

If anyone from that night ever possibly reads this THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR RANDOM ACT OF KPOP. ^_^

Thoughts on SBS Roommate: Spoilers Alert

So Roommate's next episode should be coming out with subs soon and I can't wait for it!!! Who else is watching Roommate??? If you're not I really recommend it. At first, I didn't really know what they could do with a houseful of random celebrities living together, but it's actually super cute and funny so far. Everyone just has such big and diverse personalities, but they complement each other and it works out in the end. If you don't know what I'm talking about SBS has a reality show called Roommate and it's basically about 11 idols, comedians, and other celebrities sharing a house together and interacting with each other. The show features EXO's Chanyeol, 2ne1's Park Bom, After School's Nana, comedian Jo Seho, model Lee Sora, martial artist Song Gayeon, singer Shin Sungwoo, actress Hong Soohyun, and actors Lee Dongwook, Park Minwoo, and Seo Kangjoon.  In the most recent episode, the main thing I wanna know next is why Park Bom is crying T.T The episode started out with Nana and Soohyun failing at cooking and then everyone had decided to act as press for Bommie after she got home. She then proceeded to burst out that she wanted to date Minwoo, but when she was alone she started crying. What's going on here???? My heart goes out to her because she's taking the relationship matter seriously and I would too if I were in her position. She also had a lot going on with all of the negative press that she's been getting.
